I arrived in the United States on February 6,1966, but I remember my first day here very clearly. Passage 2

Sports and games make our bodies strong, prevent us from getting too fat, and keep us healthy. But these are not their only use. They give us valuable practice in making eyes, brain and muscles work together. In tennis our eyes see the ball coming, judge its speed and direction and pass this information on to the brain. The brain then has to decide what to do, and to send its orders to the muscles of the brain, legs and so on, so that the ball is met and hit back where it ought to go. All this must happen with great speed and only those who have had a lot of practice at tennis can carry out this complicated chain of events successfully. Sports and games are also very useful for character-training. In their lessons at school, boys and girls may learn about such virtues as unselfishness, courage, discipline and love of one' s country, but what is learned in books cannot have the same deep effect on a child' s character as what is learned by experience. The ordinary day school cannot give much practical training in living because most of the students' time is spent in classes studying lessons. So it is what the students do in their spare time that really prepares them to take their place in society as citizens when they grow up. If each of them learns to work for his team and not for himself on the football field, he will later find it natural to work for the good of his country instead of only for his own benefit.

1. 【参考答案】批改学生的作业是教师教学中一项十分繁杂但又非常重要的工作。这项工作既是对学生学习的指导,又是收集教学效果反馈信息的重要手段。批改作业的方式主要有:全收全改、相互批改、自己批改、面批面改。

题干中提到的教师不逐一批改学生的作业,单纯采用全班对答案(即学生自己批改)的方式,这样做有一定的优点,但弊大于利。其优点在于:能让学生及时反省自己的错误,并可以提高教学工作的效率。但是经过教师批改的作业对学生更有说服力,同时更能激发学生的求知欲,也可以使教师更好地了解每一个学生的学习进度,以便教师因势利导、因材施教。教师如能认真对待学生的作业,精批细改,在作业本上写上一两句或表扬或鼓励的话,相信学生完成作业的效果会更好。

【参考答案】心理因素是人的主观心理的直接反映,由于现实的客观条件与人的主观意识的影响都具有可变性,所以这种反映会是千变万化、难以预测的。例如,在英语学习中,有相当一部分学生由于无法适应录音材料的语速、提取信息的能力较差或其他的原因而对听力课没有兴趣.这样在收听过程中就会产生负面的心理变化,而且随着时间的推移,这种情况会愈加明显。

有的学生在进入收听状态之前就表现出焦虑和紧张的情绪,一戴上耳机就显得表情紧张,这种情况在考试时会显得更加严重。一般来说,在听力中曾经有过“挫折”(尤其是在考试中受到大挫折)的学生最容易犯这种“毛病”,因为挫折往往给他们留下了“不寒而栗”的感觉,每当一接触到听力,就有“触景生情”的心理反应。另一种原因是害怕听到自己不熟悉的东西而忐忑不安。有的学生不能做到自始至终集中精力听完一项听力内容,因为在英语听力过程中,人的兴趣、情绪、态度和注意力,都会受到所收听信号的质量、周围的环境,以及教师的授课方式等客观因素的直接或间接影响,如录音不清晰或音频时高时低,这样就很容易引起学生的情绪波动。收听的时间长了,学生也会因精神疲劳而精力分散。在学习的中期,由于听力课程难度的加大,且学习初期没有打好基础,有些学生的学习障碍加大,这会使学生的自信心受挫,容易产生对学习的抵触、抗衡等心理。显然,在英语听力教学过程中,受心理因素负面影响的学生不在少数,而且影响的层面呈多样性。

针对这些负面影响,教师应首先优化学生的心理环境,努力创设轻松、和谐的听力氛围,使学生在平和的情况下,运用理智,进行高效地听音方法,收到最好的效果。其次,应加强学生听力技巧方面的指导。

Teaching Plan

After reading this short passage, I have an overall teaching plan as follows.

Firstly, I will make a threedimensional teaching target, such as the knowledge and skills target: Learn to know and read new words--question, form, season, capital and call. Learn to use the modal verb "can".

Secondly, I will make specific teaching activities and teaching purposes according to the students' present learning level. Such as make sure the right pronunciation of the new words through the audiotape; know the usages of the modal verb "can" through some specific examples in class; utilize the knowledge points through group work and so on, then I will make some comments based on their performances.

Finally, I will end up with a summary of what they have learned, and then assign homework that will greatly help them consolidate the language points.
